May-August School Talks
We were lucky enough to squeeze in a few school talks before lockdown, and even more fortunate to present a few over zoom!
Balgowlah Heights Public School
In May we visited BHPS twice! We were lucky enough to present at both their K-2 assembly and 3-6 assembly to discuss plastic pollution and the 5Rs. This was extra special as it was Gloria & Thilara's first time presenting at a school - they were incredible!
Curl Curl North Public School
In May we also visited Curl Curl North Public School where Mel and I presented to their year 3-6 assembly about ecological footprints. It was such a pleasure to revisit Curly as the last time we had been there for a talk was pre-COVID! The Northern Beaches Council also came along to film which was exciting for the students.
Brookvale Public School
In June we visited the year 5 and 6 class at Brookvale Public where Thilara and I educated about plastic pollution and the 5Rs, followed by a great Q&A session and a beach clean at North Curly. This was such a lovely school to visit and was so special at the Department of Education came along to film too!
Pearl Montessori Preschool
Once lockdown started we, unfortunately, had to cancel all of our booked school talks, however, Steph was invited to present to Pearl Montessori Preschool over zoom. She spoke about her journey, with lots of pictures, and discussed plastic pollution, the 5Rs and beach cleanups as the kids had been learning how to take care of their environment.
Gloria's youth group!
After seeing all the excitement on our Instagram (follow along for updates if you don't already!) Gloria's church invited her to present over two weekends to the primary and high school groups about her journey with Seas of Change. We couldn't be more proud of her :)
Our school talks program is the highlight of our organisation and we'd love to visit your school - if you're keen please reach out and contact us over email to either organise a talk over zoom or book an in-person presentation for once we're out of lockdown💙
