On Going Cake Stalls
In 2017 the team made the decision to run ongoing cake stalls. We have been blown away by the community response to our message and have many more stalls planned
2017 - Enviro Day
In the late August of 2017 we were lucky enough to be the chosen charity of a school's Enviro day profits. The day was themed in support of 'World Ocean Day' and we celebrated with the sale of food, terrariums, henna, face painting and more. This was an amazing experience in which we were able to create a greater awareness among youth. On the day we received a donation of $550 which is in the process of being donated to Dr Janet Lanyon and her team at the University of Queensland.
In 2014/2015 North Curl Curl Public School participated in a Save the Dugongs competition. There were 4 year groups with different competitions:
Kindy - Draw and label a dugong.
Yr 1-2 - Draw a dugong in its natural settings and write an acrostic poem.
Yr 3-4 - Think of 5 or more ways of how you can raise money and awareness for dugongs.
Yr 5-6 - Write an informative but entertaining narrative for kids aged 10-13 about dugongs.
There was 1 winner per age group and each winner received 1 VIP gold pass to Seaworld, Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild Gold Coast (kindly donated by SeaWorld and valued at $120 each).
To enter people were charged a gold coin and all profits raised went towards donations to Dr Janet Lanyon.
